Vst Plugins Folder Cubase

After I upgraded to Cubase 9 and went “totally 64bit” I had a problem with my DAW not finding the 54 Waves plugins. I also had the same problem with Maschine and Waves.

Native Instruments. Native Instruments has done a remarkable job by releasing KOMPLETE START. I got this problem in Cubase 5 with some vst plugins not showing up in the inserts dropdown menu. I can use the 'Voxengo spectrum analyzer' as an example. Ive put the.dll file in my vst plugins folder and load up cubase only to find it not showing up. I got the same problem with Waves plugins. I may note that im on a Windows 7 64bit system. When you launch Cubase, it will scan any installed VST plug-ins from its default VST plug-in paths. If you installed a plug-in or virtual instrument to a custom folder, however, you first need to add that path within the VST Plug-in Manager for it to be scanned. Are you in search of far-out filters, hi-res reverbs and other audio allies? The PlugIn Zone presents a selection of top-notch plug-ins developed by third-party companies using Steinberg's popular VST format as well as regularly introduces new and professional software instruments and audio effects that perfectly complement your Steinberg software. All VST plug-in installers for Mac are using these folders: The 'Plug-ins' directories contain both a VST and a VST3 folder as well as folders for other plug-in formats. In most cases, plug-ins installed correctly into these folders should be available in compatible host applications.

Vst plugin transient master. A quick search on the forums showed that this is a common issue but there is lots of disagreement about how to actually fix it.

The problem occurs because both 32bit and 64bit Waves plugins all sit in the same folder within Program Files (x86) – a location normally used for 32bit stuff!

Try as you may by pointing your DAW to the right location, both Cubase and Maschine were not having it!

I tried lots suggestions before finally discovering a post on the Steinberg Forums by user KurtOzzthat did the trick – actually instructions from Waves support:

Uninstall All Products via Waves Central:
In Waves Central go to Install->Uninstall Products (at the top).
Choose all the products click ‘Uninstall’.
Once uninstall is finished – quit Waves Central.

Uninstall Waves Central :

Uninstall Waves Central itself using Control Panel->Programs and Features

Remove Various files:
Click on Winkey+R and enter the text %appdata% – click Enter. Delete the Waves folder inside ‘Roaming’.
Click on Winkey+R and enter the text %programdata% – click Enter. Delete the ‘Waves Audio’ folder.
Conduct a file search on your system for the term :”WaveShell” and delete any “WaveShell” file that you find.

Re-Install:

Vst

Download and install the latest Waves Central for Windows
Run Waves Central application and log-in.
Click on Install at the top tab, then select Install
Click Online (on left pane)
Select all your products (in the middle pane)
Click Install on (the bottom right)

Many thanks to Kurt – that really did the trick for me, hopefully it will help others too.

UPDATE: Both problems solved.
I got AmpliTube 4 to work in standalone mode by removing version 4.03 and installing version 4.02 in it's place.
To get Amplitube 4 working as a plug-in, the two files you need to copy into your host plug-ins folder are:
1. C:Program FilesVstPlugInsAmpliTube 4 .dll
2. C:Program FilesCommon FilesAmpliTube 4.vst3
I can't swear to it, but I don't recall seeing the file referred to in 1. on my file system until after I removed v4.03 and replaced it v4.02.

Cubase 5 Vst Plugins Folder

Anyhow, update posted in the even it might help someone else.

Cubase Vst Folder

ORIGINAL PROBLEM STATEMENT:
I'm trying to use AmpliTube 4 and Fender bundle (licensed) on Windows 10. Can someone please tell me exactly what AmpliTube file(s) I need to copy into my host plug-ins folder to use the plug-in and where on the Windows 10 file system I might find them?
So far, I have managed to bring Mobius 2 via JBridge and Cubase Groove Agent 4 VST's into my custom plug-ins folder on Ableton Live 9 (64-bit) and Ableton sees them no problem so I obviously understand the process in general and Ableton is not the problem, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what AmpliTube 4 files I'm supposed to be dropping in my plugins folder.
As an aside, Amplitube 4 standalone stubbornly refuses to use the native ASIO driver of my Steinberg UR44 interface. Standalone Cubase Groove Agent 4 and Positive Grid Bias FX have no problems in that regard.
So, as it stands, I can't use AmpliTube 4 at all. Not in standalone mode because it refuses to use my audio interface's native ASIO driver and not as a VST plugin because I can't find the right files to drop in my host plugins folder.
My primary concern right now is getting Amplitube 4 to work as a VST plug-in, so can someone please tell me which AmpliTube VST-related files I need to be looking for?
Thank you.
